If someone asked me, “Can my friend use your bicycle later?” I’d be inclined to say yes, or a polite no if I feel like I want to use it myself.

If someone sneaks into my room at 2 am when I’m asleep and uses my bicycle without asking me, I’d get pretty pissed off. More still if he’s stupid enough to awaken me.

    Assembly

    People assemble

    People talk

    Lines fill up

    School song

    Quiet as usual

    Prefect takes the stand

    Recite the Rukun Negara

    Right hand up

    “Maka kami”

    Maka kami

    “Rakyat Malaysia”

    Rakyat Malaysia

    Silence

    “Assembly is canceled”
    “Please return to your classrooms”

    “What?”
    “Huh?”
    “What’s going on?”

    Small laughs.

    Ms. Harriet

    “What are you laughing at?”
    “This is a serious matter

    Silence

    Silence

    Silence

“All boys please return to your classroom”
“All girls please remain in the hall”

    Puzzlement

    Theories

“Is KDU becoming an all-boys school?”
    “Someone got raped?”
“Maybe they are checking for boys in girls clothing?”
“Haha but they won’t find Boon Yang”
    etc.

    10 minutes pass

Few girls start trickling back into class

    “What happened?!?!”

    “Dunno”
    “They did like a spotcheck”
    “Some girls got pulled out”

    Startled

    This is serious

    More girls trickle in

    “What happened?!?!?!?!”

    “They checked our socks”

    Huh?

    “Socks”

    What

    SOCKS

One hundred posts. That’s right. Though it’s been irregular, in the last 380 days I’ve written 99 short/medium/long/really long “essays” which very few people have read. I’ve written about my computer, the Oympics, musicals and performances, the Wii, American Idol, a long post about Hong Kong, a short post about Outward Bound, debates, after-April Fools Day and quite a few other random things.

So what does one year of blogging tell me about my life?

Absolutely nothing. I didn’t learn anything about myself, didn’t record down many special things, didn’t manage to release my emotions into words etc. All it did was help me to use my time productively into a sort of journal…

And I don’t mind really. It’s quite fun, and doesn’t hurt anyone right?

Anyways… Happy New Year! 2009 is hopefully epic, since it’s my last year in school…
